Water Horse

Hannah and I went to see Water Horse yesterday afternoon. Gotta love the small town theater prices. The Matinée price is $4 and we can share a medium popcorn and Coke costs for $5, so the two of us can kill an afternoon for $13 total. Not as cheap as Netflix, but much more fun.

The movie was very good. I don't think it was written directly for kids, but it appeals to them as well. Not much slow dialog and just enough action. There was very little true "scare" factor to the movie, but there were a few scenes with a great deal of suspense to them. Most kids should be able to handle the scarier scenes. There is a mild amount of cussing and some of the characters smoke throughout the movie. Since it is set in Scotland during WWII the smoking does at to the authenticity of the scenes, and probably had a part in the PG-13 rating.
