Nice! The office all got this gun for Xmas. I did this mod during lunch and I am now the office superpower. I made one addition by buying a key chain laser pointer for $12 and bored out one of the ammo slots to position the button near the trigger. Instant laser sight upgrade! Thanks for making it easy!

i tried doin a similar trick except with the other spring. although i have not tried this on yet i know replacing the other spring does make it go a lot faster and keeps a lot the accurry but unfortunley it makes a ringing noise like micro darts i love that modified nerf gun and plan to post it on nerf haven eventually

This method should be adaptable for most gun types. One of these days I’ll get one of the Nerf longshots and see what’s inside.

Mike, I’ve got a 300 milliwatt red laser that I’ll dare you to shine up your nose The smell of burning nose hairs might not be as cool as it would look though.

Yeah, the zip tie is a good idea. That’s the most frustrating part of the whole project. I also added some epoxy to places it seems like it may fail. Then I generously applied hot glue around the whole assembly.

I found some really cheap laser pointers the other night, so my next gun may have a laser sight! Also, it looks funny when I shine it up my nose in the dark.

The zip tie on the spring is pure genius. That probably makes it much easier to put back together.
