Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers

Deb and I went to see Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers at Gruene Hall last night. It was quite a show. He’s one of those artists that just pours his entire soul into the performance. They started playing about 10:30 and hadn’t slowed down when we left a bit past midnight. I bet most of the audience(me included) knew most of the words. He had a lot of audience participation and it appeared that everyone was having a great time.

The Mother Truckers opened for them and put on one hell of a warm up show. They sung a blend of roots rock and old fashioned shit kicking country that really rocked the house. Their lead guitarist is amazing. Wow.

Happy BDay to Me

Pretty busy day today. So much for relaxing on my birthday. Two ceiling fans, a king sized mattress and string trimmer.

No more work today though. Heading out to Gruene Hall in about an hour to see Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. See you there!

SXSW Panel Confirmation.

The SXSW 2008 website is up now! I’ll be sure to link to the panel picker when it’s posted in a day or two.  One thing I did notice already is that prices are up significantly.  $500 for the early gold pass.

Pownce Social Network

Pownce appears to be YASN (yet another social network) that lets you broadcast messages to your friends, kinda like twitter but different.  For $20/year you can also send files up to 100MB.
