Ian Moore at the Cactus Cafe
Mark talked me (it wasn't difficult) into going to see Ian Moore at the Cactus Cafe last night. I'm very glad that he did. Ian puts on a hell of a show with a lot of energy.
Bukka Allen opened for him and was the first pianist that I've really enjoyed. He's got a great voice and some awesome songs.
Ian played a fun mix of urban folk with an edge toward southern rock and did a couple numbers with Bukka on accordion. He was backed up by Kullen Fuchs and by Kestrin Pantera on the electric cello. The show was awesome, and if you ever get a chance to see them play in a small venue like the cactus cafe, definitely do. He's also playing a lot for SXSW so if you're attending the music side of the festival definitely check him out.
