Ian Moore at the Cactus Cafe

March 10th, 2007 Posted in SXSW

SXSW-CRW_0645.jpgMark talked me (it wasn't difficult) into going to see Ian Moore at the Cactus Cafe last night. I'm very glad that he did. Ian puts on a hell of a show with a lot of energy.

Bukka Allen opened for him and was the first pianist that I've really enjoyed. He's got a great voice and some awesome songs.

Ian played a fun mix of urban folk with an edge toward southern rock and did a couple numbers with Bukka on accordion. He was backed up by Kullen Fuchs and by Kestrin Pantera on the electric cello. The show was awesome, and if you ever get a chance to see them play in a small venue like the cactus cafe, definitely do. He's also playing a lot for SXSW so if you're attending the music side of the festival definitely check him out.
